Meat Matters

Beef. A Montana Perspective

Meat Matters is a rebuttal pamphlet made in response to Heather Luscher’s Meat of the Matter brochure. Luscher’s 16-panel brochure presents a comprehensive overview of the meat industry’s impact on the environment and suggests how readers can reduce this impact through better-informed food choices. This piece, created in 2014, has a beautiful layout, but much of the information is incorrect or represented inaccurately.

My rebuttal to Luscher is Meat Matters: Beef. A Montana Perspective. In this pamphlet, we look at the Montana seed-stock perspective. We analyze the land, the process of carbon, carbon and cattle together, and what cattle provide for us, Montanas. This 3-color illustrated pamphlet offers cited information with a creative and well-balanced typographic layout. The last two spreads of the booklet include photography to leave the viewer pondering the information and taking in the beautiful cattle-ran ground before them.
